NDIS Community Participation
Getting to an activity is one thing. Actually taking part, connecting with people, trying something new, building a routine in your community, is what this support is for.
- Social activities, sport, recreation, and community events
- Support to access local venues, groups, and public spaces
- Building genuine connections and confidence in your area
- Fatigue and mobility-aware support from Allied Health qualified workers
- Funded under NDIS Core Supports
The Difference Between Being Present and Actually Participating
A support worker who takes you to an event and sits next to you while you watch is not community participation, that is transport with company. Real participation means you are engaged, included, and contributing to something that matters to you.
At Kind Freedom, we approach community participation with the same clinical awareness we bring to all our services. Our Allied Health background means we understand how conditions like MS, spinal cord injury, and acquired brain injury affect participation in group settings, including fatigue thresholds, mobility planning, and how to structure an outing so it is genuinely enjoyable rather than exhausting.
Self & Plan-Managed Friendly
We support self-managed and plan-managed participants.

Active Community Access
Confidently explore new neighborhoods, public transport, and local hubs.
Adaptable Support Hours
Flexible scheduling that fits around your life, routine, and energy levels.
Goal-Oriented Activities
Focus on the hobbies, arts, or social settings that matter to you.
The Range of Activities We Support
Community participation looks different for every person. The activities below cover the full scope of what Kind Freedom can support you with, your plan will reflect the activities that matter to you.
Sport and Physical Recreation
Attending the gym, swimming, wheelchair sport, park walks, or any physical activity in your routine. We assist with access, equipment, and participation, including safety during exercise where your condition requires it.
Arts, Hobbies and Creative Activities
Attending art classes, music groups, craft workshops, photography walks, or any hobby-based group in your community. We assist with access and participation, and stay as involved, or as hands-off, as you want during the activity itself.
Community Groups and Volunteering
Joining a local club, neighbourhood group, or volunteering program. Regular participation in a group builds a social network, something that cannot be achieved in a single outing, but can be built with consistent community support.
Education and Library Access
Attending education programs, TAFE, or using local library services. We support physical access and participation during the activity, including note-taking assistance, or staying present to assist if your condition fluctuates during the session.

Follow 3 Easy Steps To Begin
A conversation, a plan, and support that starts.

Make an Enquiry
Call us or send a message. Tell us your condition, your goals, and what has, or hasn't, worked with other providers. We will be honest about whether we are the right fit before you commit to anything.

Match & Plan Together
Edson reviews your NDIS plan, speaks with your support coordinator if you have one, and builds a support schedule around what you are actually trying to achieve, not a standard package.

Begin Your Support
Visits start on schedule. Your goals are tracked. Your clinical team is kept in the loop. And you have direct contact access to Edson, not an ordinary call centre, if anything needs adjusting anytime.
Understanding Funding & Pricing
Community Participation is typically funded under Core Supports — Assistance with Social and Community Participation in NDIS plans, or through TAC rehabilitation budgets. This budget is flexible for recreational and social activities.
A plan manager handles invoicing and claims. We invoice them directly — no paperwork or out-of-pocket payments for you.
- Zero paperwork — plan manager handles everything
- Still full provider choice (registered or not)
- No out-of-pocket payments to worry about
