Accessibility Statement

Last updated: May 2026

1. Our Commitment

Kind Freedom Australia is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. As an NDIS support provider, accessibility is not just a legal obligation — it is central to our values. We strive to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA standard across our entire website.

2. Accessibility Standards

Our website has been designed and developed to conform with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This includes attention to the four key principles of accessibility:

  • Perceivable — Information and user interface components are presented in ways that all users can perceive, including text alternatives for images and sufficient colour contrast
  • Operable — All functionality is available via keyboard navigation, with no time-dependent interactions that cannot be extended or paused
  • Understandable — Content is readable and predictable, with clear labels, instructions, and error messages on all forms
  • Robust — Content is compatible with current and future assistive technologies, including screen readers, magnifiers, and voice control software

3. Accessibility Features

Our website includes the following accessibility features:

  • Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
  • ARIA landmarks and labels for screen reader navigation
  • Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images
  • Colour contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG AA requirements (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text)
  • Keyboard-accessible navigation, forms, and interactive elements
  • Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements
  • Responsive design that works across devices and screen sizes
  • Clear, consistent navigation throughout the website
  • Form validation with descriptive error messages
  • Skip-to-content links for keyboard users

4. Colour and Contrast

During our brand development process, we identified that white text does not meet WCAG AA contrast requirements on our brand colours (Teal, Green, Yellow). All buttons and UI elements on brand-coloured backgrounds use dark charcoal text (#1A2E2D) to ensure readability. Our design system enforces these contrast rules consistently across the website.

5. Assistive Technology Compatibility

Our website has been tested with the following assistive technologies:

  • VoiceOver (macOS and iOS)
  • NVDA (Windows)
  • Keyboard-only navigation (all major browsers)
  • Browser zoom up to 200%

We aim to support all modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) in their current and immediately preceding versions.

6. Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may have limitations:

  • Third-party embedded content (such as Google Maps) may not be fully accessible — we provide text alternatives where possible
  • PDF documents linked from our website may not be fully accessible — contact us for alternative formats
  • Some older blog content may not yet meet all accessibility standards — we are progressively updating this content

7. Feedback and Assistance

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of our website. If you experience any difficulty accessing our content or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us:
